The idea of an open top taxi is not new, most pre-war London cabs were Austin low loader cabriolets, in that the rear folded down in pleasant weather. The actual term cab comes from the word cabriolet, meaning "a light hooded one horse carriage". The original Hackney carriages were such items hence the name cab.

The cabs unlike their normal counterparts are all fitted with full stereo sound and public address systems, plus on board cold drinks fridges, with not only drinks, but 35 mm films and instant cameras available for sale.Acknowledging that there are sometimes cloudy days in London, all of the cabriolets are fitted with full length clear roofs. This means that you can look right up through the clear top and still get a fabulous view whatever the weather, unlike open top buses, where you can get cold and wet.

Prices start from Ł75.00 sterling for 5 persons, and the cab can be booked for the whole day to visit such places as Oxford, Stratford on Avon. They can also be booked for special events, such as Race days, weddings, celebrity events, and promotional days. All credit cards are accepted. Some visitors have been so impressed with the cabriolets, that the company has been able to export a complete cab to special request.
